Wycombe target defensive stability with Swansea Sam Parker on loan

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Wycombe Wanderers have acted to plug a defensive void by securing 20‑year‑old Swansea Sam Parker on a season‑long loan. The club hopes his versatility at right‑back or wing will strengthen the back line.

The loan runs for the full 2026‑27 season, allowing Wycombe to assess Parker across an entire campaign. It also marks his seventh summer signing for the club.

Parker arrived from Championship side Swansea City after making 13 league appearances for the Swans. He made his debut in a 2‑2 draw with Coventry City in December 2023.

At the end of the previous season he earned four successive starts for the Swans. Those matches produced victories over Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers.

Director of football strategy and data intelligence Tom Stockwell said, “Sam is a very athletic full‑back.” He added, “His pace and agility make him tough to beat in a one‑v‑one situation.”

Alongside Parker, Wycombe have also signed Cauley Woodrow, Steve Cook, Conor Hazard and Emre Tezgel. All five newcomers will train together at Adams Park.

Having featured in 13 league games for the Swans, Parker brings experience that Wycombe hopes will solidify the right side of the defence. The loan gives the club a chance to evaluate his impact over a complete season.
