Utrecht outmaneuvers Cagliari to secure Inter prospect Berenbruch

Thomas Berenbruch is on the verge of leaving Internazionale for a move to FC Utrecht, the Dutch Eredivisie side. The transfer is confirmed by Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported the development early this morning. Cagliari had also shown interest, but Utrecht now appears the most likely destination.

Volgens Di Marzio, the Italiaanse top clubs are currently looking to place several young talents elsewhere. Berenbruch is one of those youngsters expected to depart Inter soon.

Afgelopen januari, Cagliari also pursued Berenbruch's services. The Serie A-club tried again recently to convince the midfielder to join, but a move to Utrecht now seems most probable.

Bij Inter, Berenbruch remains under contract until the summer of 2029. Transfermarkt values his transfer at one million euros, and he logged minutes last season with the O23-elftal in Serie C.

He has two appearances for Inter' senior squad to his name. Born in 2005, Berenbruch is a young midfielder with potential. Utrecht appears poised to complete the signing in the near term.
