Spurs' chase for Trubin: De Zerbi faces a tight race

Tottenham Hotspur are in the mix to land Benfica’s Ukrainian keeper Anatoliy Trubin, Calciomercato journalist Alessio Lento reported on X, noting this talented keeper’s solid campaign of 43 conceded goals, 21 clean sheets in 50 matches and a contract running to 2028. Should De Zerbi get him on board?

Spurs will have to compete with Aston Villa and Juventus for the Ukraine international’s signature, as both clubs are reported to be in the race to sign him this summer.

Standing at 1.99 m, Trubin is a commanding presence inside his penalty area and is praised for his quick reflexes, solid ball handling and willingness to rush out and clear danger when required.

If signed, Trubin could improve Roberto De Zerbi’s first‑XI, challenge for a regular starting spot and serve as a reliable replacement for Guglielmo Vicario, who struggled for consistency last season.
