Reports: Crystal Palace on the verge of $15 million Zavier Gozo signing

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball ·

Crystal Palace are moving to fill an attacking void by targeting Real Salt Lake forward Zavier Gozo, a 22‑year‑old whose rise in Major League Soccer has attracted Premier League attention. Reports on Tuesday say the English Premier club is in advanced talks to complete a deal worth close to $15 million.

The transfer fee, set to flow from Real Salt Lake to Crystal Palace, reflects the English side’s willingness to invest in emerging American talent. The club’s scouting focus on the United States has placed Gozo among the top prospects for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this fall.

Gozo made his MLS debut in 2023 and, under coach Pablo Mastroeni, has become a key player for Real Salt Lake (RSL) this season, recording six goals and five assists in 16 appearances. His contributions have helped RSL maintain a competitive edge in the league.

His performances earned him a spot in the 2026 MLS All‑Star Game in July and have added up to 27 caps across various U.S. youth national teams, including three appearances for the U‑23 side. These experiences underline his readiness for a higher level of competition.

Listed as a top prospect for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, Gozo embodies the Premier League club’s strategy of integrating promising American players into the first‑team group. The move aligns with Palace’s broader recruitment policy aimed at diversifying its talent pool.

Both clubs aim to finalise the agreement by Friday, when Gozo is expected to fly to London to sign his contract with Crystal Palace. The deadline adds urgency to the negotiations and sets a clear timeline for the transfer.

If the deal materialises, Gozo will join U.S. Men’s National Team defender Chris Richards at Crystal Palace, where Richards is set to remain a key starter under new manager Pierre Sage. Their combined experience could bolster the squad’s defensive and attacking options.

The near $15 million price tag underscores Real Salt Lake’s willingness to cash in on one of MLS’s top young talents, signalling confidence in the player’s market value and future potential.
