Rangers chase PSV winger Driouech as injury opens door

Rangers FC have opened negotiations with PSV Eindhoven to acquire 24‑year‑old winger Couhaib Driouech, aiming to bolster their attacking options after the Moroccan’s recent injury‑affected spell at PSV. The Scottish club see the move as a chance to add pace and European experience to a squad seeking depth ahead of the new season.

Today, journalist Joost Blaauwhof reported that Couhaib Driouech is on the verge of leaving PSV. The 24‑year‑old Moroccan has struggled to secure a regular place in the Eindhoven side. His status has prompted interest from clubs abroad.

The Eindhoveners are currently in discussions with Rangers FC about a possible transfer. Rangers have identified Driouech as a target to reinforce their wide areas.

Driouech was absent from PSV’s Johan Cruyff Shield match last Sunday, a game the Dutch champions lost heavily to AZ. Coach Peter Bosz confirmed the winger was dealing with an injury.

Sources told VI that PSV and Rangers have entered formal negotiations and both clubs intend to finalize a deal. Driouech himself has expressed willingness to move to Scotland, where a long‑term contract is reportedly ready.

The Moroccan arrived at PSV in the summer of 2024 from Excelsior for a fee described as a few million euros. He failed to become a first‑team regular, featuring mainly as a substitute. Nevertheless, he made an impact in the Champions League, scoring two goals against Liverpool and one against Napoli.

Red Bull Salzburg have also shown interest in Driouech, but Rangers currently hold the lead in the pursuit of the swift winger.
