OFFICIEEL SK Beveren injects experience with Condé signing
OFFICIEEL SK Beveren has finally acted on the transfer market, securing 26‑year‑old Guinean international Cheick Condé on a contract running to the summer of 2028, with an option for an additional season, to bolster the midfield ahead of the club’s push back to the Jupiler Pro League.
The contract was signed at the Freethiel stadium, binding Condé to SK Beveren until the summer of 2028 with an option for an additional season. The deal is intended to bring the necessary experience for the club’s planned return to the Jupiler Pro League.
Condé, 26, arrives as a Guinean international who previously featured for FC Zlín in the Czech Republic, FC Zürich in Switzerland, Venezia in Italy and Blau‑Weiss Linz in Austria. His career path shows exposure to several European leagues.
He has accumulated almost 150 appearances at top‑level football, including 15 European matches with FC Zürich. In addition, Condé has earned ten caps for the Guinea national team.
SK Beveren had been criticised for a lack of reinforcement in recent weeks, with the club specifically seeking a controlling midfielder to maintain balance in the centre of the park. The management believes Condé now fulfills that requirement.
The right‑footed midfielder is noted for his physical presence, duel strength and ability to recover many balls. His extensive range allows him to cover large areas and apply aggressive pressure on opponents.
General manager Bob Peeters expressed satisfaction, stating, “Cheick is exactly the type of player we needed to strengthen our midfield. He combines athletic ability and duel strength with footballing qualities and already shows enormous potential.” He added that Condé will be given time to adapt before becoming an absolute asset.
