London City Lionesses chase European ambition with Rosa Kafaji signing

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

London City Lionesses have signed Arsenal forward Rosa Kafaji on a permanent three‑year deal, paying an undisclosed fee, as the club looks to close a striking gap and push for a place among the world’s elite. The move follows the club’s statement that it has high ambitions to become one of the best teams globally and values its independent status.

The 23‑year‑old Swedish forward arrived from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan side BK Häcken, having joined Arsenal in the summer of 2024. Her experience in Sweden’s top league adds depth to the Lionesses’ attacking options.

During her time with The Gunners, Kafaji made 19 appearances and scored one goal, and she was part of the squad that won the UEFA Women’s Champions League in the 2024/2025 season. Those achievements underline her pedigree at the highest European level.

Kafaji spent the previous season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, where she helped the team reach the Adobe Women’s FA Cup final. The cup run demonstrated her ability to perform in knockout competitions.

On the international stage, Kafaji has earned 18 caps for Sweden and netted three goals, providing her with valuable experience in UEFA Women’s competitions.

The signing was confirmed by an official club press release from The Pride this evening, and WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via the same channel. London City Lionesses have secured her services for three years, though the transfer fee remains undisclosed.

Kafaji becomes the seventh Lionesses signing of the summer window. She highlighted the appeal of familiar faces, naming Freya Godfrey and Kosse Asllani as key contacts who will ease her integration into the squad.
