Kyra Carusa confident Ireland can beat France

Kyra Carusa said Republic of Ireland are ready for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against France in Grenoble. Carla Ward's side have the chance to qualify for a second consecutive World Cup as they face France, who currently occupy the solo qualification spot in League A2.

Carusa has missed only one game in the campaign and scored the opening goal in the 3-2 win over the Netherlands at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. "We've put ourselves in a position to control what we can control. It's historic and massive," Carusa said.

After defeats by France and the Netherlands in the opening matches, Ireland have now won three consecutive games. Carusa noted the 2-1 loss to France at Tallaght Stadium remains fresh in their minds.

Abbie Larkin, the 21‑year‑old who netted the second goal against the Netherlands, said Ireland can beat France 100%. Larkin, the youngest member of Vera Pauw's World Cup squad, added that the team will bring positive energy to the match. Amber Barrett scored the winner as a substitute in the last match, while Denise O'Sullivan and Emily Murphy were unavailable.

The squad plans to take the game against France one step at a time and work on improvements. Carusa concluded that she will always bet on the team’s depth and momentum.
