Done deal: Bologna secure Dovbyk on loan as Italian market heats up

🇮🇹 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Done deal sees Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk head to Bologna on loan from Roma, moving the forward from the Serie A side to the club in the north of Italy. The temporary transfer was confirmed as part of the latest activity in the Italian market.

Bologna targeted Dovbyk to bolster their attacking options after his difficult season, which was plagued by injuries that limited his appearances and impact. The loan offers the Ukrainian forward a chance to restart his career in a new environment.

Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo confirmed the move, stating that Dovbyk will join Bologna on loan. The report adds official weight to the agreement between Roma and Bologna.

Roma’s financial contribution to the arrangement remains unclear, with it yet to be seen whether the club will cover part of the striker’s wages. The potential wage split could influence the final terms of the loan.

In parallel, a €35 million fee plus a 10 % sell‑on clause has been agreed for Santiago Castro’s move to the Italian capital, underscoring the high‑value activity in the Italian market.

The loan gives Dovbyk a platform to revive his form while providing Bologna with a forward to strengthen their squad, and leaves Roma’s financial exposure dependent on the undisclosed wage arrangement.
