Enzo Maresca shapes City’s Asian tour with 28-man squad blend

Manchester City have announced a 28‑man travelling party for their preseason tour of Asia, confirming that a strong mix of first‑team regulars and young prospects will join the squad under Enzo Maresca’s supervision. The roster includes several players who featured at the World Cup, while two England internationals are absent as they recover or pursue loan moves.

The club had been expected to take a strong contingent on the Asian preseason trip, and a number of players who featured at the World Cup have already returned to training and will join the tour.

Enzo Maresca will receive a closer look at both established first‑team members and a plethora of City’s young prospects, as the 28‑man travelling squad was confirmed today. The announcement marks the first official roster for the upcoming Asian fixtures.

City’s itinerary includes three friendlies: against Inter Milan, the K‑League All‑Stars and Atletico Madrid. These matches will allow Maresca to implement his tactical ideas ahead of the 2026‑27 campaign.

Goalkeepers named are Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marcus Bettinelli, Max Chabot and Jack Wint. Defenders include Rico Lewis, Matty Henderson‑Hall, Max Alleyne, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, Stephen Mfuni, Josko Gvardiol, Kaden Braithwaite and Rayan Ait‑Nouri. Midfielders such as Nico Gonzalez, Mateo Kovacic, Tijjani Reijnders, Xavier Parker, Floyd Samba, Jaden Heskey, Divine Mukasa, Ryan McAidoo, Claudio Echeverri and Phil Foden are also on the list, while forwards Antoine Semenyo, Savinho, Mahamadou Sangare, Divin Mubama and Jeremy Monga complete the squad. The inclusion of several young players highlights Maresca’s intent to evaluate emerging talent during the tour.

Two England internationals are absent from the travelling party; players who progressed beyond the quarter‑final stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will not participate in the Asian tour, while those eliminated in the Round of 16 will link up later but have not travelled today. The club confirmed this policy on its official website.

Jack Grealish is missing from the squad as he continues rehabilitation from injury. Kalvin Phillips also did not travel, with reports indicating he is close to finalising a loan move to Sheffield United.

The first friendly against Inter Milan is scheduled for Saturday, offering the first real glimpse of Maresca’s side. The tour is described as the first step of a new era at City, presenting an ideal blend of youth and experience and the chance to observe any shifts from the previous Pep Guardiola era.
