Inter and Como’s quiet pact stalls Chalobah’s Chelsea exit

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has become the centerpiece of a new pact between Serie A clubs Inter and Como, as both sides look to fill defensive gaps without sparking a bidding war. The agreement follows weeks of competition for the Englishman. The deal was sealed after a productive phone call between Inter sporting director Beppe Marotta and Como’s Mirwan Suwarso. Both parties said the pact aims to prevent any auction‑style bidding. Inter and Como have been vying for Chalobah over the last few weeks, each hoping to add the Englishman to their squads. Both clubs stressed the need to avoid any tension surrounding the transfer. Como previously saw an offer for Chalobah rejected, prompting the lakeside club to act cautiously. Suwarso told Marotta that Como would gladly step aside and explore other market options if Inter submitted a formal bid. Inter, meanwhile, remain focused on securing Anan Khalaili, having made a renewed offer for the player. Consequently, the move for Chalobah has been placed on hold, even though personal terms with the Chelsea defender have reportedly been agreed. The mutual understanding reflects a mature approach to transfers, aiming to protect each side’s interests without overpaying. For Chelsea, the stalemate could limit the club’s ability to maximise earnings, especially as they also target Maxence Lacroix. The information comes from Kaustubh Pandey of GIFN, who referenced La dello Sport for details.
