Insight into Ajax transfer: medical exam holds Torino move

🇳🇱 By 4AllFootball ·

Ajax have agreed to receive roughly €3 million for midfielder Kian Fitz-Jim, with the transfer to Torino pending a medical examination in Italy. If the exam is passed, the 23‑year‑old will join the Serie A club, becoming its twelfth recent Serie A‑season interest.

Within 24 hours, transfer specialists Gianluca Di Marzio and Nicolò Schira reported that an agreement was near, confirming rapid progress toward a deal.

Fitz-Jim's contract with Ajax runs until mid‑2027, and technical director Jordi Cruijff described the window as one of the last chances to secure a return after several failed renewal attempts.

"At this moment a transfer is seen by all parties as the best option," the newspaper quoted the technical director as saying.

The fee is set at about €3 million, roughly €1 million less than the amount mentioned on Wednesday morning, and a small percentage of future resale value is retained by Ajax.

During his time at Ajax, Fitz-Jim made 72 first‑team appearances, scored seven goals, provided two assists, and spent one season on loan at Excelsior.

Torino would become his third club and his first foreign club, marking a new chapter in his career.

The modest fee reflects Ajax's broader strategy of monetising players whose contracts are close to expiring, especially when renewal talks stall.

The swift movement from initial interest to a near‑final agreement underscores the efficiency of the market for Dutch talent moving to Serie A clubs.
