Emotional farewell: Zineddine Belaïd leaves JSK for Al‑Taawoun

Al‑Taawoun have secured the signature of Algerian international defender Zineddine Belaïd after just one season with JS Kabylie (JSK). The 27‑year‑old activated a €1.2 million release clause to move to the Saudi club, ending a brief but proud spell with the Canaris.

The transfer was made possible by the activation of Belaïd’s release clause, valued at 1.2 million euros. The clause was triggered shortly after the player’s official departure from JSK, confirming the move to Al‑Taawoun in Arabie.

Belaïd, a regular with the Algerian national team, has earned 19 caps and scored once. He is also listed among the squad for the 2026 World Cup with Algérie, marking a new chapter in his career.

In a message addressed to the Canaris, Belaïd wrote: “After a period I lived with great pride at this great club, it is time for me to turn a new page. I thank the direction, the staff, my teammates and especially the faithful supporters of the JSK, who will forever be etched in my memory.”

He also admitted the emotional weight of the decision: “Leaving the JSK was one of the hardest decisions of my career. This club was not only a team for me; it allowed me to experience some of the best moments of my life and fulfil the dream of wearing this shirt.”
