Club Brugge outbids Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord for Dutch prodigy
Club Brugge has secured the signature of 16‑year‑old Nederlands defender Emmanuel Fejokwu from West Ham United, edging out interest from Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord. The youngster joins the Blauw‑Zwart youth set‑up for the coming season after a competitive transfer battle.
Fejokwu has signed a three‑season contract with Club Brugge. West Ham United will receive a training compensation, though the exact amount remains undisclosed.
The transfer attracted attention from several Europese clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Anderlecht, Lille, Inter, AS Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen, alongside the Dutch giants.
The Nederlander has already featured for youth sides of both Engeland and Nederland. He can still choose his senior allegiance.
At Club Brugge, Fejokwu will be placed in Club NXT, which competes in the Challenger Pro League.
The deal is pending administrative approval by FIFA', as noted by the club. He will train bij Club Brugge's facilities alongside other prospects.
