Brøndby’s Rodgers leaves Forest for Danish women’s club
Brøndby IF have completed the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Amy Rodgers on a two-year deal. The Danish A-Liga club confirmed the transfer via their official website this afternoon. The 26-year-old Scotland international leaves Nottingham Forest after one season at The City Ground, where she made 26 appearances in all competitions.
Rodgers arrives at Brøndby IF with a strong club pedigree. She began her career at Liverpool, making more than 50 appearances before moving to London City Lionesses, Bristol City and Nottingham Forest. Her club record shows consistent first-team involvement across multiple seasons.
Speaking after her move, Rodgers said: “I know how historic a club Brøndby IF is – both in Danish women’s and men’s football. I was looking for a new challenge, and when I spoke to Kim [André Pedersen] and Bengt [Sæternes], it seemed like the perfect match.
“The club has great ambitions to win titles in Denmark, but also to compete in European tournaments. It fits perfectly with my own ambitions and what I want to achieve, so I am really excited to have become part of the club.
“I am looking forward to getting started with the team, meeting the fans and hopefully contributing to the club’s success.”
Rodgers will link up with her new club next week, as Brøndby IF finalise preparations for the upcoming A-Liga campaign.
