Bisseck says Stones will lift Inter’s defence amid summer overhaul

Until 2031, Yann Bisseck has secured his future at Inter with a contract extension, and he welcomed the arrival of England defender John Stones, saying the new centre‑back will raise the standards of the entire backline as the club prepares for a busy summer of defensive change at San Siro.

He added that when a high‑profile player walks into the dressing room it is always positive. He noted that “Stones will force the other defenders to raise their level, and as a result the team’s performance improves.”

When asked if the arrival could limit his own minutes, Bisseck replied that there are “lots of matches, lots of competitions, there’ll be room for everyone.” He said he is not worried about spending more time on the bench.

Speaking about his own renewal, he said the extension is good news but does not change his feeling for the club. “I chose Inter because I liked the club and the city, and I never thought about changing shirts. I’ve never lacked the club’s trust,” he affirmed.
