América seeks attacking flexibility with Óscar Perea loan

By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Club América have officially announced the signing of 20‑year‑old Colombian forward Óscar Perea on a one‑year loan from Strasbourg, with an option to buy, ahead of the 2026 Liga MX Apertura Tournament. The deal follows his recent loan spell at AVS in Portugal and aims to add versatility to Guillermo Almada’s attacking line‑up.

Guillermo Almada, América’s manager, has highlighted a need for greater flexibility up front. Óscar Perea’s ability to play as a centre‑forward and on the right wing directly meets that requirement.

The Colombian’s recent loan at AVS in Portugal gave him valuable European experience. Prior to that, he began his professional career at Atlético Nacional in Colombia, laying a solid foundation for his development.

Perea’s registration will fill one of América’s limited foreign‑player slots, a prized commodity under Liga MX rules. The loan therefore also helps the club manage its roster compliance for the Apertura.

The signing marks the first confirmed arrival for the Azulcrema squad, popularly known as Las Águilas, for the 2026 Apertura tournament. It signals the start of the club’s recruitment drive ahead of the new campaign.

América must complete Perea’s swift registration to make him eligible for the season’s opening matches. Until the paperwork is finalised, the expanded attacking options remain a pending benefit.
