Allegri’s contract termination clears path for Napoli appointment

🇮🇹

Massimiliano Allegri is set to terminate his contract with AC Milan today, clearing the path for his appointment as Napoli's new head coach on a two‑year deal. The termination is expected to be formalised in the coming hours, 2025‑26 season after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League. He remained under contract, meaning an exit package must be negotiated before he can join another side.

Milan have recently reshaped their club management, and Sky Sport Italia Allegri and the new Rossoneri directors are expected to shake hands today to finalise the termination.

Matteo Moretto confirmed that the two parties will formalise the contract termination “in the coming hours”. Once the termination is signed, Allegri will be free to sign with Napoli.

Napoli secured an agreement with Allegri a few weeks ago, planning a two‑year contract that will be announced once his Milan deal is concluded. The two‑year deal will be signed after the termination is formalised.

A photograph from May 17, 2026, shows Allegri watching the Serie A match between Genoa CFC and AC Milan at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Another image from April 6, 2026, captures him gesturing during the Napoli versus AC Milan clash at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
