Ajax-icoon Tadic declares 'Mijn tijd' ends at Al-Wahda
Dusan Tadic, the 37-year-old Servische aanvaller, announced via Instagram that his time at Al-Wahda in the Verenigde Arabische Emiraten is over, posting the message on his Instagram-profiel today at 00:06. The statement reads, "Mijn tijd bij Al-Wahda is voorbij," signalling the end of his contract that began in the transfer summer of 2025.
Via Instagram he thanked Al-Wahda for their support, writing that the two trophies they won together will always remain special. He also expressed gratitude to the club and its board, noting that their understanding made the transition possible, and concluded with "Het allerbeste, Al-Wahda.'".
The Ajax-icoon spent five successful seasons with Ajax, departing the Amsterdammers in the transfer summer of 2023 after 241 matches, 105 goals and 112 assists. During his time at Ajax he became a key figure for the club and the Netherlands national team, earning 111 caps for Servië.
From Amsterdam he moved to Fenerbahçe, where he was under contract for two seasons before joining Al-Wahda. His spell in Turkey added further experience to his career before the latest chapter in the United Arab Emirates.
Following his departure, Tadic is currently without a club, and it remains unclear whether he will seek a new playing contract or retire from football. Earlier rumours linked him back to Ajax, but that move did not materialise, and he has hinted that a future coachescarrière in Amsterdam could be on the horizon.
Vanuit Amsterdam he has spoken about the possibility of staying involved in the sport beyond his playing days, suggesting that a coaching role in the city would suit his ambitions. The next steps for the former Ajax-icoon will depend on whether he chooses to continue as a player or transition into management.
