Ajax faces extra half‑million fee if they clinch European spot
Vandaag, a report by Transferjournalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Mocht Ajax secure a place in a European competition (Europese), the Amsterdammers will have to pay Wolverhampton Wanderers an additional sum for the transfer of striker Tolu Arokodare later this season according.
Ben Jacobs said the fee would be under one million euros, roughly half a million pounds, which converts to almost six hundred thousand euros. The payment is only triggered if Ajax confirms a European ticket.
In addition, Ajax must pay a loan fee of one million pounds, equivalent to just over 1.1 million euros. This amount is separate from the conditional transfer payment.
Ajax meets Servische FK Vojvodina in the second round of the Conference League, having won the first leg 1‑4. The return match is scheduled for Thursday 30 July at the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
FootbalPrimeur reported that the striker was spotted at De Toekomst on Tuesday 28 July. His official presentation is described as a matter of time.
The deal accelerated before the return leg was played, the extra amount will be transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ajax must first confirm qualification for a European competition before the conditional fee becomes payable. Finalising Arokodare’s registration and the loan terms remain the remaining steps.
