2028 contract marks Nottingham Forest’s long‑term bet on Alana Murphy

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

2028 marks the end of Alana Murphy’s new contract with Nottingham Forest, extending her stay at the City Ground until the summer of that year. The 20‑year‑old midfielder signed the deal after eight starts in the final three months of the 2025/2026 Barclays WSL2 season, following a club press release this evening.

WSL Full-Time received an official club press release from The Tricky Trees this evening confirming the extension. The announcement highlighted the club’s confidence in Murphy’s development and her role in the squad.

Murphy arrived at Nottingham Forest from German club SC Sand in February, bringing experience from the Frauen‑Bundesliga. She had initially signed terms only until the following summer before opting to remain at the City Ground for an additional year.

During the final three months of the 2025/2026 Barclays WSL2 campaign, Murphy made eight starts for the Reds, showcasing her growing influence in midfield. Her performances helped the side maintain competitiveness in the league.

She scored in the Reds’ 1‑1 draw with Newcastle United at Gateshead International Stadium in April, underscoring her attacking contribution. The goal highlighted her ability to impact games from midfield.

After signing, Trentside quoted Murphy: “I’m super‑happy to have signed this new deal with the club. I settled into the group really well last season and am grateful for the warm welcome.” Her statement reflected the positive integration she has experienced at Nottingham Forest.

Further Nottingham Forest squad updates are expected soon as the Reds continue to build their campaign. The club aims to strengthen its position in the Barclays WSL2 for the upcoming season.
