Joël Titaley Appointed AZ Women’s Coach, Teams Up With Van der Gragt
Joël Titaley has been appointed head coach of AZ’s women’s side. He will work alongside former Netherlands international Stefanie van der Gragt, who lacks the licence to lead the group alone. The contract runs until mid‑2028.
Titaley arrives from PSV where he served as an assistant coach. He replaces Wouter de Vogel as AZ’s women’s coach. The deal was signed with the club that finished eighth in the last Eredivisie season.
During a year and a half in Eindhoven, Titaley helped PSV claim the Dutch league title last season. The championship was PSV’s first since 2016.
Before joining PSV, Titaley coached several amateur clubs. He also spent four years as a scout for the Netherlands national team.
In March, AZ announced that van der Gragt would relinquish her technical manager role for a different staff position. She will begin her coaching licence programme next season while collaborating with Titaley.
AZ’s women’s team finished eighth in the 2022‑23 Eredivisie. The new coaching duo is expected to build on that mid‑table finish.
