Brian Brobbey pledges full support for grieving Cody Gakpo

Oranje striker Brian Brobbey said he will stand by teammate Cody Gakpo as the Dutch squad continues its World Cup campaign after Gakpo’s personal tragedy. Gakpo is coping with the loss of his unborn son Elijah together with his girlfriend Noa van der Bij, a situation the team is rallying around. Brobbey explained, “We tried to be there for him, and if he needs us we are there, if he needs space we give it as well.” He added that the entire group, from coaches to players, is making an effort to support Gakpo during this difficult period.
