Paris Saint‑Germain's trophy chase fuels hunt for 19‑year‑old Diomande

🇫🇷

Paris Saint‑Germain, intent on bolstering its attacking options, have set their sights on 19‑year‑old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande, whose potential move from RB Leipzig looms amid interest from Liverpool and a €130 million price tag. The transfer could see him join a project led by chairman Nasser Al‑Khelaifi and coach Luis Enrique.

Paris Saint‑Germain’s ambition to compete for trophies under Luis Enrique drives the search for a dynamic right‑winger. Diomande believes the club’s project, overseen by chairman Nasser Al‑Khelaifi and technical advisor Luis Campos, matches his own aspirations.

RB Leipzig signed Diomande from CD Leganés a year ago for €20 million. After a solid debut season in the Bundesliga, the Ivorian international has attracted attention from clubs across Europe.

Diomande is under a four‑year contract with Leipzig, making any move uncertain. The German side hopes to secure an extension, but if that fails it is targeting a transfer fee around €130 million.

Liverpool previously indicated willingness to pay almost €100 million for the winger. Such a bid would still fall short of Leipzig’s valuation.

Diomande will represent Ivory Coast against Norway in the World Cup round‑of‑16 on Tuesday. The game is a knockout‑stage encounter.

A summer transfer remains unconfirmed, as Leipzig is reluctant to lose the player without a satisfactory deal, and negotiations will hinge on contract terms and the final fee.
