Dante appointed head of Bayern Munich’s reserve team

🇫🇷

Dante has been appointed head of Bayern Munich’s reserve team. The German club announced the appointment on Tuesday, marking Dante’s return eleven years after leaving Bayern.

The Brazilian defender retired from playing at OGC Nice at age 42. His retirement followed a career that concluded with Nice’s successful relegation‑playoff campaign.

Dante’s final appearance came on 30 May in the second leg of the relegation playoff. He featured for Nice in that match against Saint‑Étienne.

Nice won the tie 4‑1, securing a decisive victory. The win ensured Nice’s survival in Ligue 1 with a goal in the final minute.

In his new role, Dante will oversee the development of Bayern’s reserve squad. The club expects his experience to shape the next generation of talent.
