Portugal's under‑16 national team concluded its UEFA Development Tournament with a 1-3 defeat to France in the competition's third and final match. The game took place at Campo de Jogos Dr. Marques dos Santos in Sertã.

France opened the scoring after just 19 seconds when Yasmine Benseba capitalised on a ball recovery by Anne Goprou and finished with a cross‑shot. The early goal gave the French side a narrow lead at the interval.

The second half began with an extension of the lead as Anna Rose Humbert netted the second goal, receiving a through pass from Benseba and beating the Portuguese goalkeeper.

Portugal responded in the 59th minute when Carolina Delgado scored from a free‑kick, but the goal was disallowed for an off‑side position.

Beatriz Mourão reduced the deficit in the 81st minute with a long‑range strike that surprised French goalkeeper Kessy Ngaffi, who could not prevent the goal.

In added time, Mady Leduc sealed the result with a third goal at 90+5, confirming the 3-1 victory for France.

The loss left Portugal finishing the quadrangular tournament in the Castelo Branco region with one draw and two defeats, having drawn 3-3 with Germany and lost 1-2 to Belgium as well as the 1-3 loss to France.
