Portugal winger Rafael Leão confirmed his intention to leave AC Milan this summer. The 26-year-old announced the move following the club’s failure to secure a Champions League spot in Serie A.

Leão’s statement came as AC Milan finished sixth in Serie A, seven points behind fifth-placed Atalanta. The club’s European campaign concluded at the Champions League group stage with just two wins in six matches.

AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Allegri confirmed discussions with Leão’s representatives. Allegri stated the club is evaluating offers but stressed no decision has been finalized.

Leão, who joined AC Milan in 2019 from Lille, has scored 53 goals in 196 appearances for the Rossoneri. His contract expires in 2026, making him a free agent if no new deal is agreed.

Allegri also addressed potential replacements, mentioning interest in younger forwards. He ruled out forcing Leão’s exit but acknowledged the need for squad planning.

Leão is expected to attract multiple suitors this summer. Top clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with his signature.
