Real Madrid’s backup plan if Michael Olise deal stalls this summer

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has outlined a contingency plan this summer in case a transfer for French winger Michael Olise cannot be completed. With Bayern Munich firmly refusing to release Olise and Vinicius Jr.’s contract running out in 2027, the club is already scouting World Cup stand‑outs as alternative targets. Real Madrid have scored more goals than any other European club this season, with Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe providing the bulk of the output. The uncertainty surrounding Vinicius Jr.’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer has prompted Los Blancos to double down on Michael Olise. Bayern Munich, however, have made clear they will not part with the French international. Journalist Ramon Alvarez reported that Olise is seen as the ideal long‑term successor to Vinicius Jr., whose current deal expires in 2027. Negotiations over a renewal have been ongoing since early 2025 without a resolution. Bayern Munich are simultaneously working to extend Olise’s contract and double his salary, leaving Real Madrid to explore other options. Perez has indicated that if the Olise move collapses, Real Madrid will turn to a World Cup standout as a replacement. RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, a 19‑year‑old Ivory Coast international, has attracted the club’s attention after a debut Bundesliga season with 12 goals, eight assists and the highest dribble count in the league. Chief scout Juni Calafat notes that Diomande prefers a move to the Bernabeu over interest from Liverpool and PSG, while Leipzig would demand a fee near €120 million. Another name on Real Madrid’s radar is Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, who impressed with a commanding display against Brazil at the World Cup. Lille, having secured Champions League qualification, are aware that Bouaddi’s performances could attract offers around €80 million. Despite their desire to retain the 18‑year‑old, the French club acknowledges the market interest sparked by his tournament form.
