Barcelona confirms Alexia Putellas exit
FC Barcelona announced Alexia Putellas will leave the club.
Putellas, two-time Ballon d’Or winner, departs after a decorated tenure. She won 11 trophies with Barcelona, including two Champions League titles.
The club confirmed the move in an official statement. No further details on destination or contract were disclosed.
Putellas joined Barcelona in 2012 from Espanyol. She became the club’s captain in 2019 and led them to unprecedented success.
Her departure marks the end of an era for Barcelona’s women’s team. The club did not specify a timeline for her replacement.
Barcelona will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
