Bayern targets PSV's Ismael Saibari triggering sell-on clauses
Bayern München have agreed a deal for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ismael Saibari. The transfer includes sell-on clauses benefiting three Belgian clubs: KRC Genk, KV Mechelen and RSC Anderlecht.
Saibari joined PSV from RSC Anderlecht in January 2023 for a reported €8 million fee. His former clubs Genk and KV Mechelen are entitled to 10% of any future sale under FIFA solidarity mechanism rules. Anderlecht holds a 5% sell-on clause.
The sell-on clauses were activated when PSV triggered their option to sell Saibari after two years at the club. His contract at PSV included a release clause of €50 million.
Bayern’s interest follows Saibari’s strong performances in the Eredivisie under coach Peter Bosz. The midfielder has made 52 appearances for PSV, scoring 12 goals and providing 15 assists.
KRC Genk, KV Mechelen and RSC Anderlecht will receive payments once the transfer is finalized. The exact amounts depend on the final sale price agreed with Bayern.
Bayern must complete the deal by the end of the 2024 summer transfer window. Saibari is expected to undergo medical tests in Munich next week.
