Manchester United intensify chase for Real Madrid‑linked midfielder

Manchester United have intensified their bid for 25‑year‑old German midfielder Felix Nmecha, who currently stars for Borussia Dortmund, as the Red Devils’ director of recruitment Christopher Vivell engages directly with the player’s camp, while Real Madrid also monitor the midfielder’s situation at Signal Iduna Park.

Real Madrid have already added Bernardo Silva this summer and remain active in the midfield market, with Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez identified as a primary target despite a high price tag.

The Spanish capital side are also keeping an eye on alternatives, notably Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha, as part of their broader search for reinforcement.

Journalist Patrick Berger of Sky Germany Manchester United are now stepping up efforts to sign Nmecha, surpassing interest from Manchester City and Liverpool.

Christopher Vivell, Manchester United’s director of recruitment, is understood to be in close contact with Nmecha’s camp, indicating the club’s greatest intent to acquire the player.

Nmecha is reported to be happy and settled at Dortmund, focusing on the World Cup with Germany, and a summer departure appears unlikely.

Following Niklas Sule’s retirement, Nmecha is set to move into the salary bracket previously occupied by the former centre‑back at Dortmund for the upcoming season, though a Premier League move could materialise later.

For now, any transfer to Real Madrid or Manchester United looks unlikely, and Los Blancos may still opt for Enzo Fernandez, pending player sales to free up space.
