Kramer brands Gert Kruys his most belittling coach in his career

On Saturday evening at the De Oranjezomer programme, former Dutch striker Michiel Kramer openly declared that Gert Kruys was the worst trainer he ever worked under, accusing the coach of routinely belittling his players during a candid interview where he also hinted at a forthcoming book.

He laughed, quoting, "Who is the worst trainer I've ever had? Kruys. Why? That will be in my book soon. Then you can read it," before adding that belittling players was something he could not tolerate.

Kramer explained that Kruys's way of speaking, especially towards him, was a major issue. He said he reached a limit and told Kruys "Enough". The confrontation led to his suspension after he began swearing. He noted that some things cannot always be said, not even on TV.

The two worked together at FC Volendam between 2010 and 2012. Kruys later continued as a head coach in amateur football.

Kruys is also known as the father of former professional Rick Kruys. In recent years he has been active as a head coach in the amateur ranks.

The newest Studio Oranje episode examines the "aura" of Ronald Koeman. It also discusses the pitfalls against Morocco and Cape Verde, among other topics.
