Zidane confirms Junior Kroupi's call to the Bleus for November

Zinédine Zidane, manager of the French national team, confirmed that he will be able to call up the young striker Junior Kroupi in his upcoming squads, once again sealing the international future of the Bournemouth prodigy with the France team. This fine confirmation reinforces the player's desire to continue his French adventure after having shone in youth teams.

International career and ambitions

Junior Kroupi is the son of Ivorian international Elie Kroupi and, thanks to his mother, he is also eligible for the Portuguese national team. The former Lorient player has already worn the colours of the French national team at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels, totalling five caps and three goals with the Espoirs.

In an interview given to, the young striker was categorical: “We all agreed. I have always played in youth teams in France, I was born in France, I started football in France… I don’t see myself going into a culture I don’t know. So inevitably, the France team is the goal.” He reaffirmed his desire to continue his adventure with France.

At 19, he turned 20 in June and made a strong Premier League debut with 13 goals in 33 matches for Bournemouth. Injured in the foot during pre‑season, he has not yet played this season, but he could rejoin the squad on Sunday when Bournemouth travel to Manchester United.

For the French team, the November squad, which will be published in less than two weeks, could arrive earlier than expected. This announcement reinforces the idea that Junior Kroupi will be present in the next gatherings of the France team.
