RC Lens' Mezian Mesloub starts in Youth League against Bruges

The very young Mezian Mesloub of RC Lens, who provided an assist against Slavia Prague in the Champions League, will start this Wednesday afternoon in the Youth League against the Bruges club, despite his presence in the professional squad.
A striking return in the Youth League
Discovered last May during a decisive match for Champions League qualification, he was brought on ten minutes from the end, scoring and providing the assist that secured the long‑awaited European qualification.
Since then, Lens supporters have been expecting a lot from him, perhaps a bit too much for a sixteen‑year‑old kid.
In September, against Slavia Prague, he delivered the assist for Florian Thauvin's equaliser, showcasing his full technical repertoire.
The young Portuguese international prospect must not rush the steps, even though his talent has already dazzled.
At three o’clock this Wednesday, he will be lined up against Bruges in the Youth League, a “step down” seen as an opportunity to regain playing time and confidence. The technical staff of RC Lens highlighted the importance of this playing time for his development.
Observers hope that this playing time will allow him to consolidate his role within the professional group.
