Yamal secures unprecedented third straight Copa Trophy for Barcelona

The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony took place on the 26th in London, where the under‑21 Copa Trophy was awarded to Barcelona forward Ramín Yamal, who became the first player to claim the prize three years in a row. He is 19 and represents Spain at senior level.
He played 45 matches, netting 24 goals and 18 assists as Barcelona clinched La Liga and the Supercopa de España.
At the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co‑hosted by three North American nations, Yamal helped Spain win their second title in four editions.
He debuted for Barcelona in April 2023 at 15 years, 9 months and 16 days, breaking the club’s youngest‑appearance record, and later became Spain’s youngest ever call‑up, debutant and scorer.
The Copa Trophy, created in 2018 for under‑21 players, was first won by Kylian Mbappé; subsequent winners include Gavi, Pedri, Jude Bellingham and Matthijs de Ligt.
