Wolves add Rhyl‑born keeper Cadi Doran to youth squad as they target depth for the new season in a busy summer

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed 19‑year‑old Rhyl‑born goalkeeper Cadi Doran, announcing the deal on their official website earlier today. The American‑trained stopper arrives after a spell in the United States, where she combined playing for the University of Washington with her studies.

During her time in the United States, Doran featured in the American college system, representing the University of Washington while pursuing academic qualifications. The dual focus gave her exposure to a different style of football and a rigorous educational environment.

Manager Dan McNamara praised the signing, saying, “Cadi is a young player with heaps of potential and someone who we feel we can really develop to become a top goalkeeper.” He added that despite her age, she has already experienced top‑level football with Liverpool and international competition.

In her youth, Doran spent time with Liverpool, helping the Reds win the Professional Game Academy League championship. Although she was involved with Liverpool’s first‑team squad on a few occasions, she never made a senior appearance for the club.

She gained senior playing experience through a dual‑registration spell with FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division side Liverpool Feds. The stint allowed her to compete in adult football while still developing her technical abilities.

Internationally, Doran has represented Wales at various youth levels, progressing up to the Under‑19 side. Her involvement with the Welsh youth set‑ups demonstrates her experience on the international stage.

Doran becomes Wolves’ seventh signing of the summer transfer window, highlighting the club’s active recruitment strategy across both men’s and women’s squads. The addition strengthens the squad’s depth as Wolverhampton Wanderers prepare for the new season.
