Wheelchair football: France clinches a third World Cup

This Friday, under the lights of Buenos Aires, the French wheelchair football team experienced a decisive moment by winning the World Cup final, thus claiming its third consecutive title after 2017 and 2023.
A tight final in Buenos Aires
The French gave up the first goal first, due to an unfortunate own goal by Aurélien Fillatre, scored shortly before the end of regular time. Mohamed Ghelami responded two minutes before the end of extra time by equalising from a penalty.
Tristan Le Beller, present at the two previous titles, then scored the decisive goal, giving the victory to the French in extra time.
The podium reproduced the 2023 edition: the United States took third place, while Argentina, the host nation, fell in the small final.
This performance marks the first “back‑to‑back‑to‑back” in wheelchair football history, confirming the overwhelming supremacy of the French.
A year after the European gold, France confirms its hegemony in the discipline, strengthening its status as a world power in wheelchair football.
