Paris Saint-Germain vs Lyon match postponed due to riots in Paris
Due to riots in Paris, the league association LFP has postponed the Ligue‑1 match between Champions‑League winners Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Olympique Lyon from Sunday to Monday. The police banned the event on Sunday in order to provide sufficient security forces for the announced large demonstrations. The decision was made in the context of a tense security situation in France.
The match at the Parc de Princes will now be played on Monday at 20:30. This already makes it the fourth postponement of Ligue‑1 and Ligue‑2 games this weekend.
Following nationwide riots and violent excesses last weekend, numerous protests are again being announced for the upcoming period in Paris and other parts of France. The schedule change is intended to ensure that sufficient security forces are available to maintain public order.
