UEFA declines to probe alleged racism involving Adam Idah
In the echoing stands of Debrecen, a handful of fans erupted in what Molumby claimed were monkey chants. UEFA said the alleged racism directed at Ireland striker Adam Idah would not be investigated because the accusation was not raised on the pitch.
The Boys in Green secured a 3-0 win in the Nations League encounter with Israel, an away fixture officially recorded in Debrecen.
During the first half, Jayson Molumby appealed to match referee Harms Osmers and fourth official Florian Exner, urging them to listen to the alleged monkey chants from the small crowd.
UEFA later clarified that Molumby had not explicitly described the noise as racist to the officials, and that neither Osmers nor Exner reported hearing any such chanting.
Because the allegation was not raised on the field, UEFA’s protocols prevent any disciplinary action from being taken.
