...Two‑year gamble: Dunfermline bet on Gambian Dibaga for stability

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Dunfermline Athletic have secured Crusaders goalkeeper Musa Dibaga on a two‑year contract, the length of the deal highlighted as the most notable figure. The 26‑year‑old Gambian arrives after 22 appearances in his sole season with the Crues, bringing his pedigree to the Scottish Championship.

Before joining Crusaders, the Gambian shot‑stopper spent time with Spanish side Robres. He later returned to Scotland, featuring for Whitehill Welfare and Bo'ness United, which helped him adapt to different playing styles ahead of his move to the Scottish Championship.

Dibaga arrived at Crusaders from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, adding depth after his 22‑match spell in the Championship. During his sole season with the Crues, he played a key role in helping Declan Caddell's side preserve their Irish Premiership status. He saved penalties both in regular time and in the shootout that secured a victory over Annagh United in the second leg of the promotion/relegation play‑off at Seaview.

Dunfermline view the two‑year signing as part of a broader strategy to stabilise the goalkeeper position. The club hopes Dibaga’s experience in high‑pressure matches will translate into consistency between the posts. His proven penalty‑saving ability and Championship experience are seen as assets for defensive stability.

The two‑year contract extends Dibaga’s stay in Scottish football after a season of regular first‑team action. Dunfermline gain a goalkeeper with a record of crucial saves, while Dibaga secures a platform to further his career in the Scottish Championship.
