Tuchel also highlighted ball recovery: “we recovered between 12 and 15 balls more than Spain in the opponent’s half.” He added that, despite those recoveries, “we did not manage to turn enough of them into chances and goals; had we done so, we would have won the match.”

Amid the frustration, the German praised the goal of Anthony Gordon, describing it as “a first‑level transition” and highlighted the bravery and courage shown by his players. “The effort was there and there were phases of the match that were truly very good,” he concluded.

After the defeat, Tuchel looked to the future: England will travel to Prague to face the Czech Republic in its second meeting of Group 3 of League A. “We must keep the positive and recover the points against the Czech Republic,” he said, emphasizing the need to learn from the mistakes.
