Tras a protracted tug‑of‑war involving Napoli and Parma, 24‑year‑old Exequiel Zeballos has left Boca Juniors to join Serie A side Monza, with the club confirming his contract until 30 June 2030. The Italian club announced the signing on Tuesday via its official social channels, marking a happy ending for both the forward and the Xeneize.

Transfer fee dispute

The transfer fee was reported at between 4.5 million and 5.5 million, with the original release clause set at 17.000.000 US dollars. Monza outbid Napoli and Parma in the contest, securing the services of the Argentine forward. El Club Monza confirmed the deal on Tuesday, confirming that the player will join the Serie A side.

Zeballos, nicknamed the "Changuito", amassed 140 appearances and 16 goals for Boca Juniors since his debut in 2020. The 24‑year‑old, born in 2002, signed a contract that runs until 30 June 2030. His versatility allows him to operate on either wing or as a creative forward in the attacking third.

He becomes the twelfth Argentine to wear the Monza shirt, joining compatriots such as Valentín Carboni, Lucas Cantoro and Alejandro "Papu" Gómez. The Argentine contingent also includes Franco Carboni and Tomás Palacios, among others.
