Thomas Tuchel plans firm start for Harry Kane – bad news for Bayern

England's head coach Thomas Tuchel told Standard that Harry Kane of FC Bayern Munich will "absolutely" be in the starting lineup in "all four matches" of the Three Lions in the Nations League. This signals that he has no rotation plan for the striker, which would be a burden for the club.

Tuchel emphasized: "Honestly, I would prefer not to rotate. I'm not sure if that's possible. My ideal scenario would be to start repeatedly – with at least six or seven players from the starting eleven that we trust." The coach therefore wants to deploy a fixed core team.

The striker returns from Munich not fully recovered after a long international break, which is referred to as the "XXL‑international break". England will contest the last of the four matches on the upcoming Tuesday evening against the Czech Republic.

England lost on the first matchday against the reigning world champions Spain 2-3, with Kane missing a penalty. The first leg against the Czech Republic now follows.

Tuchel demanded: "We must be proactive and give everything. There is no room for a conservative or frugal style of play. That's how the team wants to play, that's how we want to play – so let's go."

For FC Bayern, the following Saturday brings the Bundesliga match against FC Augsburg, while the English national team will face the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
