Jens Stage eyed by TSG Hoffenheim in transfer pursuit
TSG Hoffenheim has entered the race for Werder Bremen midfielder Jens Stage, according to reports. Stage, a key figure for Werder Bremen with 15 league goals last season, is being scouted closely by Hoffenheim's management.
Hoffenheim sporting director Sven Schimpf confirmed the club's interest in Stage. "We are looking at what options are still available," Schimpf stated. The Bundesliga side is exploring potential reinforcements ahead of the transfer window.
Stage joined Werder Bremen in 2020 from FC Midtjylland. Since then, he has made 112 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals. His consistent performances have made him a target for multiple top-flight clubs.
Werder Bremen sporting director Thomas Schaaf acknowledged the interest but emphasized Stage's importance. "Jens is a crucial player for us," Schaaf said. "We will see how the situation develops."
Hoffenheim's pursuit comes amid ongoing squad restructuring under head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo. The club aims to strengthen its midfield options before the transfer window closes.
A potential move for Stage would require negotiations between Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen. No official offer has been reported yet.
