Spurs demand £75m record fee as Porro eyes Real or Barcelona

Pedro Porro, the 27‑year‑old World Cup‑winning right‑back, is set to leave Tottenham Hotspur after losing faith in Roberto De Zerbi, with the club demanding a world‑record £75 million fee currently as Real Madrid or Barcelona emerge as potential destinations, TEAMtalk reports.

Porro's value to Tottenham

EPL News and Squad Stats highlight Porro’s creative influence from deep since arriving in north London, and his inclusion in the World Cup‑winning team of the tournament underlines his pedigree. He signed a new and improved contract in June, yet his ambition now exceeds the Lilywhites’ project.

The debate over Tottenham’s best player is split; Sandro Tonali, the most expensive player at Spurs, and Micky van de Ven both feature in the conversation. Both Tonali and Micky are regularly cited alongside Porro when fans discuss the squad’s top talent.

What the exit could mean

At 27, Porro wishes to compete for major honours and has told sources he is keen to play at the highest possible level, something he no longer feels is achievable with Spurs.

‘Porro only penned a new deal with the Lilywhites in the summer, but he has quickly lost faith in the project at the club,’ reported Pete O’Rourke, who added that the defender would ‘jump’ at the chance to join Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Spurs will demand a world‑record £75 million for a right‑back before green‑lighting any sale, a sum that eclipses the previous record of Achraf Hakimi’s £57 million move to PSG in 2021. The fee reflects both Porro’s quality and Tottenham’s precarious 16th‑place standing in the EPL.

Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk notes that Real Madrid and Barcelona are actively weighing up moves for Porro, with the Spanish giants already linked to other full‑backs such as Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Joao Cancelo. A departure would further dent Tottenham’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League this season, after their only league win arrived on the seventh attempt and their sole recent trophy was the Europa League in 2025.
