Tottenham agree deal for Andy Robertson on free transfer
Tottenham Hotspur are finalizing a free transfer deal for Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson. The agreement is in the advanced stages with both clubs. Robertson’s contract at Liverpool expires at the end of the season.
The move follows negotiations between Tottenham sporting director **Fabio Paratici** and Liverpool officials. Robertson has featured 350 times for Liverpool since joining in 2017. He has won the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup during his tenure.
Tottenham are prioritizing defensive upgrades ahead of the summer transfer window. Robertson’s arrival would bolster their left-back options alongside Destiny Udogie. The club has identified him as a key target to address defensive vulnerabilities.
Robertson, 30, has one year left on his current contract. His release clause is not applicable as he will be out of contract in June. Liverpool have not offered a new deal despite his consistent performances.
The deal is expected to be completed before the end of the transfer window. Tottenham’s squad rebuilding continues under Ange Postecoglou.
