Sky says Badiashile likely omitted from Napoli squad vs Genoa
Sky Sport journalist Massimo Ugolini reported from the Castel Volturno training centre that Benoit Badiashile will not be called up for SSC Napoli’s official season‑opening match against Genoa tomorrow, stating there are no technical reasons to include him in the squad.
Ugolini, speaking for Sky’s Notizie Napoli segment, delivered the update live, referencing the Calciomercato Napoli situation. He cited the Stampa A− A+ report as the source of the technical assessment. "Non penso ci siano i tempi tecnici per convocare Benoit Badiashile per la sfida contro il Genoa," he said.
Lineup details revealed
The only change from last season’s formation will be Rafa Marin partnering Rrahmani in defence. Goalkeeper hierarchy remains set by manager Allegri, with Meret confirmed between the posts.
In midfield Anguissa and Lobotka are assured of starting spots, while a relay is expected between Scottish midfielder McTominay and Belgian De Bruyne, the former to begin and the latter to replace him. Up front the attacking trio will consist of Politano, Hojlund and Alisson Santos.
Napoli will therefore take the field tomorrow against Genoa with the outlined eleven, while Badiashile remains on the sidelines pending further evaluation. The decision leaves the defensive options limited but aligns with Allegri’s current tactical plan.
