Sevilla's Dutch training camp begins positively at NEC Nijmegen

🇪🇸 By 4AllFootball ·

El Sevilla secured a 1‑2 victory on Friday 31 July 2026 at the Goffertstadion, home of NEC Nijmegen, the third‑placed side from last season’s Eredivisie, marking the first of three friendlies planned during their training camp in the Netherlands and Germany.

The opening goal came from Isaac, who celebrated his strike with a photo credit to NimegaMUNDODEPORTIVO.COM; the match details were updated at 22:22 CEST. Isaac had noticed the advanced position of the Hispanic‑Argentine goalkeeper Gonzalo Crettaz and unleashed a shot from beyond the centre circle that rattled a post by a few centimetres.

NEC Nijmegen’s midfielders imposed a possession‑based game, creating two clear chances: Nejasmic struck from the edge of the area and hit the cross‑bar, while Chery received a free‑kick at the penalty spot but saw his effort cleared by Alberto Flores.

Sevilla’s double pivot of academy graduates Manu Bueno and Nico Guillén was outnumbered, allowing the Dutch side to weave a three‑quarter‑field move that Ouaissa finished with a low shot for the first goal of the evening in the 27th minute.

Ten minutes later Sevilla responded when Oso surged down the right wing and shot with his weaker right foot; Crettaz saved the close‑range effort, but Isaac reacted to the rebound and restored parity, sending the game to the break at 1‑1.

Both coaches made numerous substitutions in the second half; newly signed left‑back Julio Díaz, arriving from Atlético, logged his first minutes in a Sevilla shirt, while the home team rotated heavily and barely threatened the area defended by Odysseas.

The decisive strike arrived in the 82nd minute when Senegalese B‑team forward Ibra Sow, after winning several duels with the centre‑backs, body‑checked defender Moslih, collected the ball and low‑tapped the NEC Nijmegen goalkeeper for the winner.

Sevilla’s starting XI featured Alberto Flores, Carmona, Sangante, Kike Salas, Suazo, Manu Bueno, Nico Guillén, Jesuly, Peque, Oso and Isaac; other participants included Odysseas, Iglesias, Julio Díaz, Iker Muñoz, Guridi, Agoumé, Sierra, Manuel Ángel, Ibra and Jesús Cruz.
