Serie A hopes rise as Real Madrid sidelines Franco Mastantuono

🇮🇹 By 4AllFootball ·

Real Madrid’s Argentine midfielder Franco Mastantuono has been left out of Los Blancos’ squad for the upcoming friendly against Fiorentina, a move linked to ongoing discussions about a possible Serie A transfer. The exclusion is not due to injury or fitness concerns but to transfer‑related issues.

Multiple Italian clubs have been hovering around the Real Madrid talent, and Fiorentina have emerged as the leading candidate for his signature. The club already secured another Real Madrid player, Victor Valdepenas, indicating a pattern of interest.

Fabio Paratici, who enjoys an excellent relationship with the Spanish side, can leverage this connection to sign the Argentine, but competition is fierce. Juventus, Milan and Roma are also pursuing his signature, while Benfica and English clubs have entered the race.

Real Madrid have made clear they are only willing to let Mastantuono depart on loan, citing the Endrick model where the Brazilian joined Lyon in January and thrived in France. This loan‑only stance limits the options for clubs seeking a permanent deal.

Italian suitors would prefer an option to buy or a structure similar to the Nico Paz and Como agreement, making the loan‑only proposal a problem for them. The uncertainty surrounding the move leaves both Real Madrid and potential Serie A destinations weighing their strategies.
