Schalke and FC Bayern wait for Musiala decision on Saturday evening
Jamal Musiala (23) has, after several absences as a precaution, so far not set foot on the pitch for a single minute, but Saturday evening could mark the end of this pause, as he travels with FC Bayern to the Saturday evening match at FC Schalke 04 in Düsseldorf.

First squad nomination for Musiala
For the Saturday evening match at FC Schalke 04, Musiala is nominated in the squad for the first time, after he was not considered for the opener against VfB Stuttgart. The 23‑year‑old winger travels together with FC Bayern to Düsseldorf.
Vincent Kompany explained that the Musiala decision would be made after today’s training. “We will look at today’s training and then make the decision that is best for Jamal and the team,” he said. The squad is waiting for the final decision. Whether the decision will lead to his playing time remains unclear.
Kompany emphasized that Musiala had completed a good training week. “Things are looking up for him, he is doing well,” he added.
To avoid further absences, the medication during the absences has been adjusted. Kompany added: “If it were to happen again, it is no longer a major alarm for us.”
In attack, Ismael Saibari, Michael Olise and Lennart Karl are available as alternatives, while Serge Gnabry is still too early for the match at Schalke.
Whether Musiala will also get playing time in Gelsenkirchen remains to be seen. Media reports from Sky and others confirming his arrival, however, leave the final deployment question open.
